The University of Melbourne and Asialink are proud to support the Confucius Institute at The University of Melbourne with Nanjing University as its Partner University. The Confucius Institute network has been created to spearhead the teaching of the Chinese language and culture worldwide, as well as acting as a vehicle through which to strengthen economic and business ties. Confucius Institutes are in place across the USA, Europe, Asia and Oceania; with 13 in operation across Australia.
Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne has a focus on corporate sector engagement, and seeks to equip Victorians with the language and cultural skills necessary for building lasting relationships with Chinese stakeholders. Since the establishment, the Confucius Institute has provided services and training to government organisations, corporations and professionals. Our major clients include the Victorian Department of Education, MMG, Telstra, PWC, NAB, Langham Hotel, National Foods, Thales ATM, and Westpac, etc.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its establishment in 2017. Therefore, we would like to invite our past and current students to explore their relationship with China from their own perspective. We encourage all of current and past students to enter the competition for the chance to win a free air ticket to China! Please see the full details via the link or speak to your teacher and/or CI staff member.
